CEEZER has announced a partnership with Swisscom, embarking on a collaboration that aims to broaden access to carbon dioxide removal (CDR) solutions and stimulate a bolder deployment of these technologies.
Under the partnership, Swisscom and CEEZER will work on advancing the positioning of high-quality CDR technologies in Switzerland.
Established as one of the country’s leading information and communication technology providers, Swisscom has demonstrated its CDR advancement commitment by backing CEEZER with strategic capital.
The high-quality carbon removal procurement facilitated through this joint effort will count towards Swisscom’s 2030 climate goals aligned with the rules provided by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).
On its sustainability journey, the Swiss company is currently working towards ambitious climate objectives set under its SBTi-compliant Group Sustainability Strategy 2030, looking to achieve net zero by 2035.
By joining forces with CEEZER, Swisscom will also be able to offer its list of B2B clients access to high-integrity CDR delivered from reliable, science-based portfolios.
Swisscom’s Head of Sustainability Saskia Günther explained that through initiatives like this partnership, the Swiss company wants to help close the market gap of underrepresented negative emissions technologies.
She stated, “We support the expansion of this market to make the necessary technologies available in sufficient quantities—not only to us but to all companies. In the future, we want to work with CEEZER to enable our business customers to access this market as well.”

CEEZER CEO Magnus Drewelies highlighted that Switzerland is one of the birthplaces of technical CDR and represents one of the few countries that require enterprises to prepare credible net-zero roadmaps.
He commented, “We are excited to partner with Swisscom to support their own ambitious net-zero plan, as well as create access for their customers to credible carbon removal. Together, we are ensuring organizations in Switzerland and beyond have the procurement solutions needed to turn ambition into measurable action.”
