Frontier Carbon Solutions has engaged Mangrove Systems to deploy its digital measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) platform across Project Sprint, a pioneering bioenergy‑with‑carbon capture and storage (BECCS) initiative spanning the U.S. Midwest and Mountain West.
The announcement was made jointly from Frontier’s and Mangrove’s headquarters in Denver, Colorado, and Toronto, Ontario.
Project Sprint involves capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) at biomass sources, liquefying it, and transporting it via existing rail infrastructure to Wyoming’s Granger Carbon Terminal.
There, carbon will be injected into Class VI wells at the Sweetwater Carbon Storage Hub for permanent underground sequestration.
With a first‑phase capacity targeting about 500,000 metric tons of CO2 annually, the project is among North America’s most ambitious carbon removal hubs.

Mangrove’s MRV system will provide real‑time traceability of CO2 flows across the full value chain—from biomass sourcing to sequestration.
The platform aims to support Puro certification, ensure third‑party validation, and accelerate issuance of carbon credits.
Alicia Summers, Chief Development Officer at Frontier, said, “Mangrove’s proven BECCS expertise ensures every tonne of CO2 we capture, transport, and store is backed by trusted, verifiable data.”
Thus, the aim of the partnership is essentially “derisking Project Sprint operationally, commercially, and financially.”
Mangrove’s CEO Brandon Vlaar added that the platform lays the foundation for “the transparency today’s carbon markets demand.”
