Zero Emissions Platform To Host Online Carbon Capture Event - Carbon Herald

The Zero Emissions Platform (ZEP) is hosting an event on June 1st, 2022 at 10:00 am – 11:30 am UTC+1 called Making It Real: Clean & Strong European Industry by 2050.

ZEP is the technical adviser to the European Commission on the deployment of carbon capture and storage and carbon capture utilization and storage – a European Technology and Innovation Platform (ETIP) under the Commission’s Strategic Energy Technologies Plan.

The event will take place online and will look at how carbon capture and storage can contribute to ensuring Europe reaches its climate targets by 2050.

The technology is considered to help the continent fulfill its European Green Deal as mandated by Climate Law. Expected are multi-stakeholder panel discussions featuring hard-to-abate industry representatives, the European Commission, and civil society organizations.

Speakers announced to take part in the event are Chris Bolesta, DG ENER from the European Commission, Winston Beck – Director European Affairs at HeidelbergCement, Benjamin Denis – Senior Policy Advisor from IndustriAll, Lina Strandvåg Nagell – Senior Manager Projects & EU Policy from Bellona, Lucie Boost – ERG Co-chair from the Zero Emissions Platform.
