The Wren Climate Collective has announced that it is offering a $100,000 non-dilutive grant to catalyze the development of early-stage carbon dioxide removal (CDR) solutions.
The request for proposals is looking to back the advancement of high-potential durable carbon removal projects that still haven’t gained market traction or attracted growth investments.
Specifically, the collective intends to extend the financial support to CDR projects that are at a technology readiness level (TRL) between 2 and 6 or startups that have less than 1,000 tonnes of CO2 removal locked in prepurchase agreements.
Founded in 2023, the tax-deductible Wren Climate Collective was established as an answer to client demand for a streamlined pathway for engaging in climate philanthropy through the Wren platform.
Currently, Wren ranks among the top 25 CDR credit purchasers globally, rubbing shoulders on that list with other leading buyers like Stripe, Watershed, and Nasdaq.
The Collective has signed pre-purchase or offtake agreements with CDR providers the likes of UNDO, XPRIZE big winner Mati, Charm Industrial, Pacific Biochar, and Graphyte.
Aiming to stimulate the spur of next-gen climate innovators that would deliver impactful solutions to global warming, the Collective portfolio was created to provide flexible and fast grants to companies with a scaling potential that would enable CDR solutions at a price of less than $100 per tonne.

In spirit with that mission, the recently announced request for proposals is also flexible and non-dilutive, and it grants companies the freedom to apply the financial means where they are most needed, whether it’s R&D, pilot trials, or MRV validation.
Companies interested in applying for this funding opportunity can do so by August 11, 2025, and Wren will contact the selected finalists by August 15, 2025.
As announced by the Wren Climate Collective, the $100,000 grant will be dispersed to one company in the beginning of 2026.
