Worley has delivered the front-end engineering design (FEED) for key offshore infrastructure packages supporting INPEX’s Abadi LNG Project, a major energy initiative under Indonesia’s National Strategic Project program.

Worley‘s engineering scope covered two primary offshore packages in the Masela Block, encompassing approximately 150 kilometers (93 miles) of subsea infrastructure, gas export pipelines, and carbon capture and storage (CCS) pipelines.

Once operational, the Abadi development is projected to produce roughly 9.5 million tons of LNG annually. The project incorporates large-scale CCS infrastructure designed to intercept process emissions, supporting regional energy security alongside Indonesia’s national net-zero 2060 targets.

The FEED deliverables were led by Worley’s local Indonesian team, supported by the firm’s Subsea Centre of Excellence in Singapore as well as regional engineering hubs in Perth and Malaysia.

Regional Technical Collaboration Drives Subsea Design

The completion of the FEED phase positions the Abadi LNG project to advance toward subsequent engineering and commercial milestones as Indonesia expands its natural gas and carbon management footprint.

“We’re pleased to support INPEX to progress this significant development for Indonesia,” said Don MacLeod, President of Global Operations, APAC at Worley.

“Our work to successfully deliver the FEEDs demonstrates how Worley brings together deep local knowledge and specialist expertise from across our global business to help advance complex energy developments.”

By integrating dedicated CCS pipelines directly into the initial subsea architecture, INPEX aims to establish one of the region’s largest combined gas production and carbon abatement hubs in the Asia-Pacific market.
