Carbon removal-oriented global assets manager Wild Assets has invested in biomass storage CO2 credits to be delivered by nature-powered company Rewind.

Under their newly announced offtake partnership, Wild Assets is purchasing future carbon credits that will be generated via Rewind’s Deep Mine Storage (DMS) project located in the U.S. state of Georgia.

Launched in October 2025, the Georgia DMS site represents the world’s first commercial project of this kind, with a storage capacity expected to reach 50,000 tons of CO2 equivalent per year by 2027.

The project involves storing residual timber biomass into phased-out coal mine chambers, where the material is stabilized, sealed, and continuously monitored.

By storing the organic residue into naturally oxygen-free environments, this approach prevents biomass decomposition, locking away CO2 for millennia.

The credits from this project are anticipated to be issued under Isometric’s module on Biomass Storage in Subsurface Mines, which is currently in a process of public consultation.

As a carbon removal developer specialized in DMS, Rewind served as a contributor for the development of this Isometric module.

Besides the DMS project in Georgia, Rewind is also running two Marine Anoxic Carbon Storage (MACS) initiatives, one in Romania and a second one in the Mediterranean Sea in Israel.

These projects form part of the company’s ambitious 2030 goal of removing one million tons of CO2 annually through a global network of deep mines, sediments, and marine basins, where each site would serve as a natural and durable carbon storage location.

Commenting on the partnership with Wild Assets, Rewind CEO Ram Amar said:

“This offtake means a lot to us. Not only because of its scale, but because it comes from a team we deeply respect, one that brings thoughtfulness, clarity, and strong values to how carbon removal is done. We’re grateful to the Wild Assets team and excited to continue this collaboration.”

In a statement, Wild Assets shared:

“Our decision to invest in purchasing these future credits is rooted in a long-standing, strong relationship with Ram, Noa, and the Rewind team. Their work demonstrates exceptional technological rigor, execution capability, and a deep commitment to quality.”
