Welspun Invests $100 Million To Expand US Pipe Manufacturing - Carbon Herald

Welspun Corp has announced a significant investment of $100 million to upgrade its high-frequency induction welding pipe manufacturing and coating capabilities in the United States.

This expansion will enhance the company’s product portfolio and position it for growth in the North American market.

The investment in Welspun Pipes Inc. will be spread over 18 months and will be financed through local debt and internal funds.

The upgrades will enable the company to produce larger pipe sizes, up to 24 inches in diameter and 0.750 inches in wall thickness.

This expansion is expected to strengthen Welspun‘s leadership in the US oil and gas segment, particularly in the oil, liquids, gas, and distribution markets.

The upgraded facilities will also allow Welspun to capitalize on the growing demand for hydrogen and carbon capture applications in North America.

The outlook for the line pipe market in the US remains positive, driven by ongoing drilling activities in the Permian Basin and the need for new gas pipelines to transport Permian gas to the Gulf Coast.

Welspun’s investment aligns with this favorable market trend and positions the company for future growth.
