Watershed Secures $100M In New Funding For Sustainability Platform

Watershed Introduces Specialized Software For CSRD Reporting - Carbon Herald

Watershed, the leading enterprise sustainability platform, has made a significant leap in securing its position as a global front-runner in climate software with a new round of funding. The company recently received a $100 million Series C investment, which has priced Watershed at $1.8 billion, making it the most valuable climate software company in the world.

The funding round was led by Greenoaks, a prominent investment firm, and saw continued support from existing investors, including Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia Capital, Elad Gil, Emerson Collective, Galvanize Climate Solutions, Neo, and others.

With this additional funding, Watershed will increase its commitment to providing granular emissions measurement, sustainability reports that are ready for audits, and evidence-based decarbonization services for top global companies.

This investment comes on the heels of a successful year for the company, marked by several key milestones.

In 2023, Watershed made a strategic acquisition by adding CEDA, the world’s leading multi-regional emissions database, to its portfolio. The company also launched Watershed Disclosures, a cutting-edge software product designed specifically for sustainability reporting.

Additionally, Watershed’s innovative Marketplace has provided customers with the opportunity to financially support high-impact clean power and sustainable aviation fuel initiatives.

They now collaborate with major players in the industry, such as General Mills, Carlyle, BBVA, Paramount, Block, and four of the top six US banks. They have also formed partnerships with KPMG, Accenture, ERM, PCAF, and other prominent organizations.

This substantial injection of funding will enable Watershed to further empower climate programs at leading companies and continue its expansion into Europe, where there is a growing demand for sustainable solutions. The company is on a mission to support organizations as they transition towards lower emissions and contribute to the acceleration of the global climate economy.
