Enterprise climate platform Watershed announced on Sept. 18 the Watershed Ecosystem, an expanded network of partners and advisors to drive corporate climate action.
The Ecosystem will provide Watershed customers with access to solutions and guidance they need to speed up their climate results at scale. The Ecosystem includes three components – the Watershed Marketplace, a Science Advisory Board, and Watershed’s technology and data partners.
The Watershed Marketplace consists of over 45 partners that offer high-integrity CO2 removal, virtual power purchase agreements, and sustainable aviation fuel.

Watershed has partnered with the Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance (SABA) as its first-ever aggregator partner. Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) could decrease the carbon intensity of flights by approximately 84%. However, it is still prohibitively expensive for most potential buyers and constitutes less than 0.1% of the current supply of jet fuel. Customers who purchase SAF certificates will get more sustainable aviation fuel for their aircraft, while at the same time compensating for existing air travel emissions.
The newly established Science Advisory Board at the company will shape Watershed’s approaches to measuring greenhouse gas emissions and evaluating carbon dioxide removal initiatives.
The third component of the Ecosystem, an expanding group of technology, data, and consulting partners, will help augment and complement the capabilities of the enterprise climate platform.
“We are on the verge of exponential climate action,” said Taylor Francis, co-founder of the company. “We have the technology we need to transition to a thriving lower-carbon economy; we just need to deploy it. The Watershed Ecosystem reflects our conviction that every organization has a role to play in addressing climate change. Exponential climate action happens when companies rally together to build the climate economy.”
Patrick Flynn has taken on the role of Advisor and Chair of Watershed’s CSO Council, which will bring together sustainability executives from top global corporations. He has over ten years of experience in climate and has previously led sustainability at Salesforce.
