Verra, a leading standards setter for the voluntary carbon market, has become a member of the Singapore Sustainable Finance Association (SSFA) in a move to continue advancing climate solutions in Southeast Asia, a region pivotal to the global transition to sustainability.
The SSFA aims to position Singapore as a leading hub for sustainable finance, uniting stakeholders from financial and real economy sectors to address pressing sustainability challenges.
Through its membership, Verra will contribute its expertise in carbon markets, advocating for integrity, transparency, and measurable impact.
This collaboration is expected to foster new partnerships, enhance biodiversity protection, and support regional climate change mitigation efforts.
Angelo Sartori, Verra’s Senior Director for Regional Engagement, emphasized the significance of the SSFA membership, stating that Southeast Asia’s active role in sustainable finance and climate solutions is vital.
Singapore’s leadership in these areas makes it an ideal platform for Verra to strengthen carbon markets and advance the low-carbon economy, according to Sartori.

This new partnership highlights the importance of integrating sustainable finance with environmental goals to address Southeast Asia’s unique challenges.
