Verde Resources has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Highway International Private Limited, agreeing to collaborate on validating Verde’s biochar-enhanced asphalt solution in Singapore.

Specifically, the two companies will work on vetting Verde’s Net Zero Blueprint platform, which combines its cold mix biochar asphalt and its TerraZyme® enzyme-based soil stabilization innovations.

The MOU was signed between Highway and Verde’s wholly owned Singapore subsidiary called Verde Resources Asia Pacific Private Limited.

As part of the partnership, the two companies expect to launch a pilot program this year, which will serve to assess material performance, production readiness, pavement mix designs and testing procedures, as well as CO2 accounting, and broader commercial applications.

Upon successful completion and approval of the proposed pilot, Verde and Highway will enter into definitive agreements that will turn Highway into a Net Zero Blueprint licensee in Singapore that will support the platform’s application across CO2-sequestering roads, airfield pavements, and other infrastructure.

Designed to integrate Verde’s proprietary engineered biochar and advanced asphalt and pavement technologies, the Net Zero Blueprint also comes with carbon credit accounting tools to support the development of infrastructure such as high-performance roads and runways that can sequester CO2 and generate verifiable carbon removal credits.

The platform also provides a life-cycle assessment (LCA), as well as environmental product declarations (EPDs), carbon accounting, and digital project-data tracking. With this offering, Verde offers users a comprehensive framework for developing, measuring, and validating lower-carbon infrastructure solutions.

Both Verde and Highway bring relevant expertise

“This collaboration marks another important milestone in Verde’s product validation and global market development efforts,” said Eric Bava, chief operating officer of Verde Resources.

“It brings together Highway’s proven track record and expertise in advanced pavement and infrastructure applications with Verde’s carbon platform and validated technologies. Our shared ambition is to position Singapore as a leader in sustainable, high-performance, carbon-sequestering infrastructure.”

Highway’s management stated, “Our MoU with Verde aligns with Highway’s vision of demonstrating how Singapore’s roads and infrastructure can evolve beyond their traditional functions to become part of the solution to global warming, transforming existing infrastructure into long-term carbon sinks.”
