Verde Resources and C-Twelve have entered a 10-year partnership focused on commercializing low-carbon asphalt technology across the United States, following a successful completion of the joint objectives signed by the two companies back in October 2024.

Proof-of-concept trials conducted in December 2024 and April 2025 at the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) Test Track in Auburn, Alabama, have validated the performance of asphalt that was produced with a method that saved up to 95% of the fossil fuels typically burned in the production of standard hot mix asphalt.

This fuel reduction translates into a carbon dioxide emissions reduction, which in this case is complemented by a replicable and scalable model for engineered carbon removal.

Beyond this meaningful climate benefit, the trials also confirmed the economic feasibility of deploying this technology across all aspects of road construction and infrastructure, deeming it able to deliver both pavement durability and greenhouse gas emissions reductions.

Under this collaboration, Verde and C-Twelve will share the ownership of the solutions developed, tested, and operated in the United States as part of the partnership.

The intellectual property of the two companies entails a model for engineered carbon removal that leaves more wiggle room in infrastructure budgets, enabling governments to tackle more issues with the same volume of taxpayer funds.

For companies working on sustainability strategies, the Verde-C-Twelve technology generates carbon removal credits that help address environmental concerns while simultaneously powering a next-gen infrastructure.

In April 2025, Verde made history by successfully generating the first-ever biochar-based carbon removal credits from asphalt.

The pioneering credits, certified by Puro.earth, were made possible through C-Twelve’s innovative technology and are already pre-purchased by one of the largest global financial institutions.

Verde Resources CEO Jack Wong commented, “Our successful proof-of-concept is a direct reflection of the vision we set out to achieve together.”

“With C-Twelve’s groundbreaking technology and Verde’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure, we’re poised to deliver transformative, common-sense solutions that will redefine our roads of the future, for the benefit of both the environment and the economy.”
