Nottingham-based climate technology firm Vateris has secured binding multi-year offtake agreements and Letters of Intent (LOIs) worth over €50 million ($55 million) in annual turnover with six global industrial partners.
The agreements span two primary mineral product lines: engineered carbon-negative calcium carbonate (marketed as GypCarb®) for building products, and high-purity sulphate of potash (SOP) for agricultural fertilizer markets.
In the construction sector, building materials producers Holcim, Marshalls, and Goldbeck have committed to purchasing GypCarb® as a drop-in, lower-carbon alternative for concrete and cement formulations.
In the agricultural sector, specialty nutrient distributor Waypoint alongside two additional global fertilizer manufacturers have secured volume commitments for SOP, a low-chlorine, potassium- and sulfur-rich fertilizer.
Vateris Chief Executive Officer Sid Pourfalah stated that securing binding initial volumes alongside a clear downstream demand pipeline provides strong revenue visibility as the company advances toward its final investment decision (FID).

Two-Stage Deployment De-Risks Commercial Scaling From UK Demo To European Main Plant
The commercial portfolio integrates a phased rollout strategy designed to de-risk engineering and operational scale-up:
- UK Demonstration Plant (2027): Binding offtake contracts cover initial output from a UK demonstration facility engineered to validate production at scale and initiate early commercial deliveries.
- European Main Plant (2029): Accompanying LOIs outline supply terms for 130% of the planned output from a first-of-a-kind (FOAK) full-scale European production unit.
The commercial announcement follows a $3.5 million funding round supported by Zacua Ventures, Counteract, Goldbeck, Holcim MAQER Ventures, and Kiilto Ventures, bringing total capital raised by Vateris to $10 million.
Vateris’ proprietary process mineralizes captured industrial flue gas CO2 into high-purity inorganic salts and minerals.
By manufacturing low-carbon minerals domestically within Europe, Vateris aims to offer industrial customers a resilient supply chain while insulating buyers from import cost increases associated with the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
