The UK has launched the second phase of its £70 millions (~$88 million) competition designed to support decarbonization and energy efficiency projects.
The Phase 2: Summer 2022 competition window opened yesterday, May 30th, and will be available for new applications until Friday, September 9th.
Participants will compete for a share of the grant funding that is intended to cover the costs of feasibility and engineering studies in energy efficiency projects prior to investment decisions.
In addition, the grant funding from the competition will also go towards the costs of deep decarbonization projects aimed at reducing industrial emissions and projects that will reduce the energy consumption of industry.

The competition is led by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and is funded by the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF).
It is open to projects in the following sectors:
- Manufacturing
- Mining and quarrying companies
- Data centers
- Recovery and recycling of materials
