UK foam manufacturer The Vita Group has received a remarkable platinum rating from sustainability assessment provider EcoVadis.

Raking at a score of 83 out of 100, The Vita Group has positioned itself among the top 1% of global companies evaluated against the EcoVadis methodology.

The Vita Group CEO Omar Hoek stated, “This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability and driving positive change across our value chain. We will continue to strive for excellence in our sustainability initiatives and lead by example in our industry.”

The score provided by EcoVadis reflects the quality of a company’s sustainability management system at the time of the assessment, ranking it on a scale from 0 to 100.

A platinum EcoVadis medal signifies that a company’s scorecard has ranked among the 1% of all companies assessed in the past 12 months. The percentile is calculated across all rated companies, without being industry specific.

To receive this acclaim, The Vita Group’s operations were evaluated from four key aspects: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Various practices weighed in favor of the high percentage rating. One of them was the effort dedicated towards minimizing the company’s environmental impact.

Using cutting-edge technologies and processes, Vita produces a sustainable foam offering named Orbis, which revolutionizes circularity in flexible polyurethane (PU) foams by incorporating recycled raw materials from end-of-life foam, creating a genuine closed-loop circular solution.

The company places a strong emphasis on labor rights, inclusion, and diversity within its teams.

Its operations are conducted following the highest ethical standards and transparent business practices, such as a zero-tolerance policy for anti-bribery, corruption, and competition violations, with no instances of child labor, human trafficking, or modern slavery, and no non-compliance notices.

The Vita Group has also made investments in tools that align its supply chain with the company’s sustainability values. To that end, it has developed a custom-made Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) tool that optimizes data on suppliers, ensuring compliance with sustainability goals and innovation efforts.
