Syzygy Plasmonics has signed a capacity reservation agreement with World Fuel Services, marking another step forward in the commercialization of its NovaSAF™ platform for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production.
The agreement reserves a portion of future SAF output from Syzygy’s planned commercial-scale facilities in Central and South America, providing an early pathway to market for fuel produced using the company’s technology.
The arrangement follows ongoing development of NovaSAF-1 in Uruguay, Syzygy’s flagship SAF project, which is currently progressing toward construction. Future facilities covered by the agreement are expected to be developed after the initial deployment of NovaSAF-1 and will contribute to expanding SAF production capacity in the region.
According to Syzygy, the NovaSAF platform is designed to produce cost-competitive sustainable aviation fuel from biogas while supporting the aviation sector’s growing decarbonization requirements and compliance with emerging sustainability regulations.
Expanding Future SAF Supply Chains
Under the terms of the agreement, World Fuel Services will reserve access to a portion of production capacity from Syzygy’s planned future facilities, subject to successful project development and completion.
The agreement reflects continued market interest in scalable SAF production pathways as airlines and fuel suppliers seek lower-carbon alternatives to conventional jet fuel.

For World Fuel Services, the arrangement forms part of broader efforts to evaluate and secure future sources of sustainable aviation fuel to meet increasing customer demand and evolving regulatory requirements across the aviation sector.
The agreement highlights growing momentum behind SAF project development in the Americas and underscores the importance of long-term commercial partnerships in supporting investment decisions and scaling production capacity.
As Syzygy advances NovaSAF-1 and subsequent projects, the company aims to establish a larger network of SAF facilities capable of supplying lower-carbon aviation fuels to global markets.
