Supercritical has emerged as Puro.earth’s leading marketplace partner for issued credits, marking 63,296 CO2 Removal Certificates (CORCs) transacted via its platform in 2025.

With this milestone, Supercritical has transacted the largest volumes of delivered Puro.earth carbon removal credits for a second consecutive year.

In a broader perspective, this achievement highlights a growing emphasis on verified delivery and operational track record by buyers interested in carbon dioxide removal (CDR) purchases.

Aligning with these higher expectations, Supercritical supports buyers with procurement strategies designed to manage delivery risk around carbon removals.

As George Jones, Director of Supply at Supercritical, explained, “Delivery is what ultimately matters. Our market analysis shows that underdelivery is common when scaling new infrastructure. That makes it even more important to anchor procurement in proven projects.”

Commenting on the 63,296 CO2 Removal Certificates (CORCs), Jones shares, “Transacting the highest volume of marketplace-delivered Puro.earth CORCs reflects our focus on supply that is built, verified, and delivering today.”

The announcement clarifies that this figure reflects CORCs transacted via the Supercritical marketplace, where Supercritical acted as a counterparty.

Delivery risk is becoming an increasingly relevant factor for CDR purchasers.

A recently released Supercritical report notes visible variability in construction timelines, financing, and ramp-up as the initial multi-year offtakes reach execution. Simultaneously, buyers are navigating away from catalytic commitments and opting in for near-term delivery instead, driven by interim climate targets and emerging compliance markets.

In this shifting CDR landscape, Supercritical and its role as Puro.earth’s leading marketplace partner act as a trusted procurement navigator for buyers prioritizing verified delivery and long-term market development.

On behalf of Puro.earth, CEO Benno Fuchs commented,

“Reliable issuance and transparent verification are foundational to a mature carbon removal market. We’re pleased to see Supercritical driving significant volumes of delivered CORCs across multiple projects through our registry for a second consecutive year.”

He goes on to add, “Partners who prioritize issued credits and operational supply strengthen trust across the ecosystem and reinforce the foundations required for long-term market growth.”
