Summit Carbon Solutions And Infinium Partner On eFuels

Summit Carbon Solutions And Infinium Partner On eFuels - Carbon Herald

Summit Carbon Solutions and Infinium, a pioneer in electrofuel production, have forged a collaborative agreement.

This deal will potentially provide Infinium with up to 670,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year for its planned eFuels plant in either North or South Dakota.

Summit‘s pipeline system will ensure Infinium receives a stable flow of CO2, a crucial element in creating ultra-low carbon eFuels. These innovative fuels are manufactured by synthesizing captured CO2 with green hydrogen generated from renewable electricity.

They offer a solution for sectors like aviation, maritime shipping, and heavy-duty trucking, boosting domestic fuel production and increasing the availability of these sought-after eFuels for both US and global consumers.

“This partnership demonstrates how CO2 infrastructure drives energy independence and enables new markets for ethanol producers, farmers, and rural communities,” stated Lee Blank, CEO of Summit Carbon Solutions.

“CO2 is a commodity with growing value, and Infinium’s eFuels technology is an important piece of the puzzle. By providing a reliable CO2 supply, we’re helping unlock opportunities that support domestic energy production and economic growth.”

The establishment and operation of an Infinium eFuels facility in the American Midwest would inject substantial capital into regional economies, generate well-compensated, specialized employment opportunities, and sustain numerous additional jobs.

Furthermore, it would create expanded market access for American ethanol producers and farmers throughout the nation’s heartland.

“As demand for eFuels continues to rise, it is essential to secure reliable and scalable CO2 sources,” said Robert Schuetzle, CEO of Infinium.

“Summit’s infrastructure would supply the CO2 needed to scale production and advance eFuels as a key part of America’s energy future.”
