The volunteer-led global climate action network Open Air is launching the third edition of its Carbon Removal Challenge, calling on students to take part and share their innovative decarbonization ideas for shaping the global future.
The organizers invite college and university students from around the world to apply for the challenge and showcase novel solutions that tackle the issue of carbon pollution.
Students interested in the Open Air Carbon Removal Challenge can sign up by January 15, 2025.
After the initial enrollment, students will have the opportunity to attend optional workshops as they work on submitting a complete proposal by March 2025.
Participants selected as finalists in the Carbon Removal Challenge will get a chance to attend a live event in New York City in May 2025, where they can demonstrate their ideas and share them with a broader audience.
With this initiative, the Open Air collective hopes to catalyze the creation of the next generation of climate-forward technologies while also fostering a community of proactive environmental leaders that would bring together talented engineers, thinkers, and trailblazing designers.
