SLB, a global energy technology leader, announced the successful commissioning and handover of its modular carbon capture plant, operated by SLB Capturi, at Twence’s waste-to-energy facility in Hengelo, Netherlands.

This plant has the capacity to capture up to 100,000 metric tons of CO2 annually.

The captured CO2 will be utilized in various applications across the horticulture, food, and beverage sectors.

This carbon capture plant incorporates SLB Capturi‘s standardized and modular Just Catch™ design.

This modular approach significantly streamlines on-site installation and outfitting procedures. Consequently, it offers a more cost-effective and readily deployable solution compared to conventional carbon capture technologies.

Egil Fagerland, SLB Capturi CEO, commented:“We are extremely proud of our collaboration with Twence to bring online the first modular carbon capture plant at a waste-to-energy facility.”

“As pressure mounts for industrials to reduce emissions and meet net-zero targets, access to affordable, effective carbon capture technologies is more important than ever. We look forward to continuing our mission to enable access to the capture technologies needed to achieve CO2 emissions reduction impact at scale,” Fagerland said.
