Leading Direct Air Capture (DAC) and carbon utilization company Skytree has partnered with Finland-based manufacturing firm Scanfil for the development of its new units in the US and Europe.
Under this strategic partnership, Scanfil will provide its expert services for the manufacturing of the small-scale Cumulus unit in the United States, expected to capture up to 30 kg of carbon daily, and the larger Stratus unit, which includes operations in both the US and Europe, where it will have the capacity to produce up to 1,000 kg of CO2 per day.
The two companies will work together to ensure the new units meet high-quality standards.
Leveraging the vast knowledge base and experience of Scanfil in the Energy & Cleantech industry, the partners will optimize the production process, aiming to streamline and accelerate the market rollout of new products.
With this collaboration, Skytree is proving its leading role in the DAC industry, as the company continues to grow.
Originally launched by the European Space Agency (ESA), Skytree received financial backing from the European Union back in 2023, opening a brand-new office in Amsterdam’s Science Park at the beginning of this year.
So far, the award-winning company has deployed 5 units on a global level, capturing 1500 kg of carbon on the path towards their 114000 kg target.
After an extensive selection process, Skytree selected Scanfil as their manufacturing partner, hoping that with their support the company will be able to meet the commitment of capturing 10m tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere by 2030.
Will McBeath, Vice President of Operations and Services at Skytree, said that the company is excited to work with Scanfil, as both partners share the same commitment to quality and innovation.

“We look forward to a successful collaboration that will bring advanced and eco-friendly products to market.”, he said.
