SigmaRoc PLC announced its plan to launch its very first carbon capture facility in the first quarter of 2023.
To bring the project to fruition, the UK quarried materials firm is partnering up with leading carbon capture tech provider Aqualung Carbon Capture AS.
This new step in the company’s development will boost its environmental, social and governance (ESG) credentials.
The new carbon capture facility will be installed at Nordkalk, a Finnish manufacturer of limestone-based products that was bought by SimgaRoc in the summer of 2021.
Once the technology has been installed, SigmaRoc said it will finalize its plan to equip the rest of its furnaces with carbon capture before the end of the decade.
