CO2 removal developer Residual has partnered with carbon registry Isometric to introduce high-quality biochar credits to the market.
As a decarbonization visionary, Residual provides development, advisory, and commercialization services for projects focused on transforming biogenic waste into biomass-based carbon removals.
Its approach includes helping underused biomass and lands unlock their full potential through specialized technical project design, risk and rating expertise, and long-term strategies for commercial deployment.
In a longer-term perspective, Residual is on a mission to increase the supply of carbon removal on the market, focused on delivering 5 million tonnes of CO2 removal per year by 2030.
Through this newly announced collaboration with Isometric, Residual will ensure that all the projects under its guidance are eligible for the registry’s rigorous high-quality standards and are built from the get-go to deliver a scalable impact.
This partnership will serve to make sure all of Residual’s industrial and agricultural partners operate in accordance with the highest standards of transparency, scientific accuracy, and durability, generating high-integrity carbon removal.
Residual co-founder Dr. Laura Fritsch commented, “Buyers today are looking for carbon credits they can trust—credits that are not only scientifically sound but de-risked from the outset. This partnership with Isometric is about meeting that bar. We’re building projects with the data, documentation, and quality to deliver at scale and stand up to real scrutiny.”
