The remove carbon dioxide removal (CDR) accelerator is now accepting applications for Cohort 9 of the program in Europe.

This initiative will support early-stage European CO2 removal startups, backing them as they advance in development and embark on a commercialization journey.

For remove, this marks the 9th Europe-focused accelerator. To date, the program has supported numerous early-stage companies with their business growth.

The companies that successfully completed the eighth edition of the European remove accelerator include carbondrop™, Pure Hawa, reilo., Restord, BioBright LTD, ReStore Carbon, Alpine X, fortyfour, Reaforma, Circular Carbon Pathways (CCP), Carbony, CO₂Zero, Carbonway, KORALL, Exothermite, and Lightnet Carbon Capture.

Cohort 9 is now open to European projects working on durable CDR approaches that meet robust monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) requirements.

As with the other remove accelerators, this one too will take place over an 8-month period, during which support will be provided in two separate stages, called Foundations and Leap.

In the Foundations phase, startups will be brought up to speed with the dynamically evolving CDR sector. This stage will focus on topics such as Europe-relevant carbon markets and CDR policy, the buyer’s perspective, and MRV issues.

Startups will receive assistance in refining their value proposition, and the program will also assist with addressing individual roadblocks through coaching and expert sessions.

The Foundations stage will end with a pitch day—part of the application process for the second, Leap stage of the program, which will be joined only by a selected group of startups.

The remove Europe CDR accelerator will culminate in a Leap stage

In the Leap stage, accelerator participants will be taken on a deep dive experience aimed at building a successful CDR company with a global cohort of CDR startups.

Participants that advance to the Leap stage will also be offered over $17,000 (€15,000) in a pre-purchase agreement intended to build up commercial traction.

The European remove CDR Accelerator program is accepting applications by September 13, 2026, and interested parties can apply for it here.
