Pall Corporation And MTR Carbon Capture Partner On CCS Solutions

Pall Corporation And MTR Carbon Capture Partner On CCS Solutions - Carbon Herald

Pall Corporation, a prominent supplier of filtration, separation, and purification technologies, and MTR Carbon Capture (MTR) have formed a strategic partnership.

Their joint effort centers on delivering groundbreaking carbon capture solutions to a wide range of industrial sectors committed to reducing their carbon footprint.

This cooperative venture seeks to advance a highly adaptable, expandable, and economical integrated system, which will utilize MTR’s innovative Polaris™ membrane technology for carbon sequestration, alongside Pall‘s sophisticated filtration technologies.

These filtration technologies will be used for flue gas preparation, as well as cutting-edge coalescing and filtering methods designed to protect essential equipment throughout the carbon capture process.

“MTR’s Polaris™ membrane technology offers distinct environmental and cost advantages for point source carbon capture and this collaboration is an important step in commercializing our membrane carbon capture offering,” said Brett Andrews, President of MTR Carbon Capture.

This partnership will assist clients in making well-informed choices regarding investments in carbon capture, expedite the implementation of these technologies, and facilitate the achievement of their net-zero emission goals.

A primary goal of this collaboration is to effectively identify, test, and promote the adoption of decarbonization solutions among customers in industries with high emission rates, such as cement production, oil refining, steel manufacturing, and waste-to-energy plants.

This undertaking will also involve interaction with various industry participants, including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) companies, equipment manufacturers, project developers, and regulatory bodies throughout the carbon capture supply chain.

“Filtration systems play a pivotal role in carbon capture by effectively removing contaminants,” said Greg Sears, VP/GM of the Energy+ business unit of Pall.

“As part of the flue gas pre-treatment system, and throughout the entire workflow, Pall’s technology ensures that only clean gases pass through the carbon capture system, maximizing membrane lifetime, safeguarding critical carbon capture equipment from contaminants, and optimizing the performance of carbon capture systems.”
