Paebbl has officially switched on its groundbreaking demonstration plant, achieving continuous CO2 mineralization at scale for the first time ever.

Operational since late March, the plant marks a major leap forward in scaling sustainable construction materials — and it was delivered in just 18 months, on time and on budget.

Built in collaboration with Spie and Vicoma, and backed by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Demo plant showcases Paebbl’s ability to execute faster than traditional industrial timelines.

This milestone proves that continuous, 24/7 carbon capture and mineralization isn’t just possible — it’s ready for real-world deployment.

Using olivine, the Demo plant locks CO2 into supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), offering a scalable, low-carbon alternative to conventional cement. Unlike earlier technologies limited to small batches or lab setups, Paebbl’s process runs continuously, meeting the durability and quality demands of large-scale construction while slashing emissions.

Given that cement production accounts for over 8% of global emissions, Paebbl’s solution arrives at a critical moment for the industry. It transforms carbon from a liability into an asset—delivering future-proof building materials that can be produced closer to market, with lower energy use.

Beyond cutting emissions, Paebbl’s approach boosts supply chain resilience. By producing materials locally with fewer raw inputs, the company helps the construction sector navigate rising costs, resource volatility, and tightening climate regulations.

With this demo plant online, Paebbl is paving the way for rapid commercialization — proving that cleaner, stronger, and more resilient construction materials are not a distant goal, but a reality happening now.

“Reaching this milestone in record time shows how deeply our team and partners believe in the urgency and promise of building with CO2 as an input,” said Andreas Saari, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Paebbl.

“With this plant, we’re one step closer to high-performance materials and climate impact going hand in hand – on a scale that really matters.”
