Believing that Kenya is an ideal location for implementing Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology due to its geothermal resources, geological features, and skilled workforce, the company aims to support Kenya’s transition from reliance on fossil fuels and help worldwide initiatives to address the climate emergency.

Octavia Carbon’s main goal is to establish Kenya as the leading global hub for producing and using DAC technology efficiently by the year 2025.

The company is expected to reach a major milestone by the end of this year, when Octavia intends to launch the first DAC+Storage facility in the Southern Hemisphere in collaboration with a CO2 storage partner.

With an initial capacity of 1000 tCO2 per year, they aim to expand and scale this pilot project in the following years. This initiative is set to transform the way DAC deployments are done and could help reduce costs while driving social and economic progress in Kenya.
