The North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) in the UK has issued tenders for two subsurface modeling projects aimed at enhancing our understanding of pressure and fluid movement dynamics within saline aquifers suitable for carbon dioxide storage.
Tender 1 seeks subsurface experts to analyze the potential impact of fluid movement, triggered by pressure changes induced by CO2 injection, on existing well locations.
Tender 2 involves conducting simulations using representative CO2 fluid properties to investigate the subsurface factors that significantly influence the behavior of migrating CO2 within the UK Continental Shelf’s geological context.
Anyone interested in applying will have until November 29, 2024, to submit their applications. The projects are expected to be completed by March 31, 2025.
