The Inlandsis Fund has entered into a financing agreement with U.S. forest-centered carbon removal developer NativState, supporting the company as it grows its portfolio of nature-based projects.
As part of this cooperation, the Inlandsis Fund is making an investment that will empower NativState to grow its Improved Forest Management (IFM) and afforestation projects in the United States, delivering substantial forest conservation results and carbon removal at scale.
Positioned in Conway, Arkansas, NativState specializes in high-quality IFM projects that create a gateway for small private landowners to access the voluntary carbon market via sustainable forest management.
The company is currently collaborating with a network of over 600 small private landowners, contributing to the conservation of more than 600,000 acres of forests in the United States—shaping one of the largest private forest conservation movements in the country.
To generate high-quality carbon removal credits, NativState’s operations follow the ACR IFM methodology, which received the CCP label from the ICVCM earlier this year. So far, four of NativState’s projects have received official verification, with 18 more projects pending to reach the same status.
Through its operations, NativState also helps landowners to enroll in climate-oriented programs such as the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
By participating in these initiatives, landowners are able to strengthen a range of environmental co-benefits from their projects, including habitat improvement in high conservation value areas, biodiversity protection, and improved water quality.
NativState Founder and CEO Stuart Allen shared that the partnership with Inlandsis will help the company continue the scale-up of operations across IFM, afforestation, and compliance markets to deliver on the significant offtake agreements it has executed with leading carbon credit buyers.

For the Inlandsis Fund, the agreement with NativState brings the number of supported greenhouse gas reduction and sequestration projects to more than 50, a track record initiated with the first investment back in 2017.
