Magseis Renewables announced it has just been awarded a data acquisition contract for a carbon capture project in the North Sea.
The company is a subsidiary of Magseis Fairfield, a Norwegian ocean bottom seismic (OBS) technology and services provider, and it will begin work on the new carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) project before the end of this year.
Magseis Renewables will rely on its proprietary MASS III ocean bottom nodes and modular source technology to acquire data and monitor CCS in an innovative and cost-effective way, as shared by Tone Holm-Trudeng, renewables director.
The company has been looking to expand its services to also cover carbon capture markets, and last year it partnered with seismic data specialist TGS to work on offshore wind and CCS projects.
