Isometric, the London-based company that has become the world’s largest certifier of carbon removal by contracted volume, has raised $40 million in a Series A funding round to expand its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered certification platform across the broader industrial economy.

The round was led by AVP, formerly AXA Venture Partners, whose anchor investor is global insurer AXA. All existing institutional investors participated, including Lowercarbon Capital and Plural, joined by personal investments from Kleiner Perkins chairman John Doerr and investor Walter Kortschak.

Isometric’s platform, Certify, deploys AI agents to ingest and cross-check the data underpinning a certification claim, including sensor readings, satellite imagery, supply chain records, and laboratory results, flagging inconsistencies and escalating cases that require expert human judgment.

According to the announcement on Monday, the approach replaces the traditional practice of spot-checking a sample of evidence with complete coverage, compressing a process that typically takes months into hours.

Isometric was founded in 2022 by Eamon Jubbawy and has since been contracted to certify more than 16 million tonnes of carbon removal. With accreditations from major industry bodies ICVCM, ICROA, and CORSIA, the company counts Microsoft, Anglo American, JPMorganChase, and Boeing among its clients.

The new capital will fund expansion into what Isometric describes as a $350 billion global certification market, spanning regulatory compliance, safety standards, and sustainability requirements across industrial sectors.

The goal is to consolidate a fragmented landscape of registries and certifiers onto a single platform with a unified quality standard and public registry.

“For decades the certification industry faced a tradeoff between speed and rigor,” said Jubbawy. “With Isometric, industrial companies can get both.”

François Robinet, managing partner at AVP, called Isometric “a genuinely category-defining company” whose agentic AI platform has the potential to reshape certification across the industrial economy.
