Isometric is introducing a novel digital solution for monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) designed to expedite the verification and issuance of carbon removal credits.
The carbon credit platform shared that up until now, the process of tracking the life cycle analysis of projects listed on its registry was conducted meticulously using spreadsheets and manual processes.
In contrast, the new dMRV tool will facilitate digital, comprehensive project tracking, expediting the processing time and reducing the likelihood of potential errors commonly associated with manual tracking methods.
The dMRV platform is accessible to all suppliers verified by Isometric, and they have the option to use the platform for data storage as a record-keeping system or to connect to Isometric’s dMRV system for data tracking.
On the platform, credit suppliers can now report their carbon accounting by swiftly consolidating data and creating life cycle analyses, thus accelerating adherence to Isometric’s criteria.
The innovative tool integrates Isometric’s verification bodies into the platform’s standardized format, which helps minimize discrepancies and processing time while streamlining regular verification processes.
Isometric clarified that its appointed verification and validation body (VVB) directly accesses the new platform to review all submitted carbon accounting and monitoring information.

The Isometric digital MRV tool will allow suppliers to present detailed proof of their project activities. They will be able to collect and submit all essential details about their operations, including frequent sensor measurements, supporting documentation, and continuous monitoring data.
The tool will also conduct automated verification checks, making it simpler to detect problems and helping improve the standard of data quality. This, in turn, will allow the verifier to focus on the main risks.
This significant improvement of the Isometric platform is expected to substantially speed up the verification process, thereby changing the credit issuance procedure from an annual event to a monthly one.
With this development, Isometric aims to enhance the complete transparency of its credits, enabling purchasers to feel assured and trustful regarding the origins and calculations behind each tonne of removed carbon validated by its team.
