Financial marketplace Nasdaq has launched the Nasdaq Carbon Academy—a comprehensive, online course on carbon markets, created in partnership with AirMiners.

Offered as an on-demand, self-paced learning program, this course aims to provide knowledge on incorporating carbon credits into corporate sustainability strategies.

This initiative draws know-how from the successful AirMiners Buyers Academy pilot, combining the expertise of AirMiners as an accelerator, networking hub, and educational source for carbon removal startups.

Learning materials cover topics like currently available decarbonization technologies, market dynamics, how to put together a CO2 removal credit portfolio, and how to create a strategy for implementing these efforts into an internal corporate plan.

The Nasdaq Carbon Academy lessons are organized in the following five courses:

  • Introduction to Carbon Dioxide Removal
  • Core Carbon Dioxide Removal Concepts
  • Carbon Dioxide Removal Methodologies
  • Quality, Value, and Aligning Incentives
  • Budgeting, Portfolios, and Contracting

As the creators point out, the video lessons from these courses provide an active learning experience where the engaging content enables learners to put the theory into practice.

The Nasdaq Carbon Academy is now available on the Nasdaq website and is open to anyone interested in learning more about the carbon removal market.

Commenting on the announcement, Fredrik Ekström, Head of European Product Strategy and Management at Nasdaq and Chairman of Puro.earth, explained that the purpose behind this platform is to boost the awareness and education around carbon markets.
