ICROA Provides Conditional Endorsement Of Carbon Standards International Registry - Carbon Herald

Accreditation program ICROA has provided a conditional endorsement for one of Carbon Standards International’s (CSI) registries – a developer of standards, strategies and solutions for agriculture and industry – the Global C-Sink Registry.

The registry was developed to integrate and publicly list carbon sinks for the duration of their emission reducing effect while being verified by third-party certifiers.

The conditional endorsement is considered as a precursor to the formal approvement of standards that are on track to achieve the thresholds for validation but does allow for projects to use “ICROA endorsed” wording in its materials and listings, as seen on the CSI website.

Back in February 2024 ICROA unveiled a new carbon credit code of practice, aimed at improving the quality and integrity of projects in the face of ongoing criticism about the reliability of voluntary markets.

During this year the organization has been busy providing accreditations to a number of like EKI Energy and Riverse while carbon platform Isometric also received a conditional approval in March.
