The hydrogen economy is expanding in the US market as the country is creating favorable conditions increasing capacity. HydrogenPro (OSE: HYPRO) – a company that designs and delivers large-scale, energy-efficient hydrogen production plants based on advanced electrolyzer technology, announced it is building a 500 MW manufacturing capacity of hydrogen technology in Texas, US.
The estimated total investment cost of the project comes to $30-50 million. It includes a separate advanced electrode manufacturing facility, which according to the company’s announcement, represents a technology game changer in the HydrogenPro solutions offering. The site has also an option to significantly scale up the capacity to several gigawatts in due time.
The project would increase HydrogenPro’s manufacturing capacity to 800 MW in total and aims to establish a global presence for the hydrogen company as part of its strategy to become the number 1 provider of large-scale green hydrogen technology and systems.
“We have great confidence in our technology & systems being an excellent fit for large-scale industrial applications, where we are now seeing an unprecedented increase in demand for green hydrogen following the IRA. Consequently, establishing a manufacturing site to serve the North American market is a natural next step in our global expansion plan, and a very exciting opportunity for our company,” said HydrogenPro CEO Tarjei Johansen.
