Franco-Peruvian developer Fronterra has secured a combined $1.1 million financing package to advance four nature restoration and conservation projects in Peru, marking a shift from field pilots toward larger-scale implementation.
The financing consists of a seed equity round completed through French impact-investing platform Lita and anchored by natural capital investor Christian del Valle, alongside a zero-coupon project development facility from the Restoration Seed Capital Facility.
The capital will support two flagship projects, Sumaq Allpa ARR and Sierra del Divisor REDD+, as they move toward final investment decisions. Two additional projects will be prepared for pilot phases, Fronterra said in a statement Monday.
More than 200 investors participated in the equity round through Lita, primarily from France, with investors from Singapore, the United Kingdom and Peru also taking part.
Del Valle, a former BNP Paribas executive and co-founder of Althelia Ecosphere, will join Fronterra as a senior adviser focused on corporate and project fundraising.
Company Prepares For Expansion Beyond Peru
Fronterra is developing four community-based projects spanning reforestation, agroforestry, forest conservation and biodiversity across the Peruvian Andes and Amazon.
The company said the new financing will fund further development and validation work as it prepares its portfolio for larger investments and longer-term carbon and nature-credit partnerships.
“This financing gives us the means to convert years of project development, community engagement and field execution into investment-ready projects,” said Juan Carlos González Aybar, Fronterra’s founder and chief executive.

The company has also strengthened its management team. Erick Decker, former group chief investment officer at AXA, has joined the board as an independent member, while Antoine de Vaubernier, a former Danone and Livelihoods Funds executive, has become chief operating officer (COO).
Fronterra is preparing for a Series A in 2027 and plans to expand beyond Peru from 2028, initially into Brazil and Central America.
It aims to have 14 projects under development or operation by 2033, with potential annual removals and avoided emissions of 3 million to 4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e).
