Texas-based Grassroots Carbon, which describes itself as the largest soil carbon and regenerative ranching company in the United States, has appointed Dana Dufresne as its first Chief Value Chain Officer, bringing in a food and consumer goods executive to deepen commercial partnerships with retailers and corporate buyers.

Dufresne joins from Fair Trade USA, where she served as Chief Growth and Marketing Officer, working with major retailers and brands on responsible sourcing and certified supply-chain programs.

Her earlier career spans senior commercial roles in dairy, beverage, confectionery, and produce sectors—experience the company said positions her well to connect corporate sustainability commitments with verified soil carbon outcomes.

Bridging Ranchers And Corporate Buyers

In the newly created role, Dufresne will lead Grassroots Carbon’s engagement with retailers, consumer packaged goods companies, and other corporate partners seeking credible, nature-based carbon removal.

The appointment reflects the company’s ambition to align its regenerative ranching model—currently spanning more than 2.7 million acres of American grassland—with the climate, sourcing, and supply-chain priorities of large corporate buyers.

Existing customers include Boeing, Chevron, Microsoft, Nestlé, Shopify, and Poppi. To date, Grassroots Carbon has delivered 1.9 million tons of carbon removal and paid ranchers $40 million from credit sales.

“Regenerative agriculture begins with the people who steward the land,” Dufresne said, praising Grassroots Carbon’s model that rewards ranchers for measurable outcomes while providing a credible climate investment opportunity for companies.

Brad Tipper, Grassroots Carbon’s chief executive, said Dufresne’s experience across food, retail, and responsible sourcing would help build stronger connections between ranchers restoring America’s grasslands and companies investing in measurable climate outcomes, describing her appointment as “an important next step” in the company’s growth.
