An important event for the carbon removal industry will take place online on Thursday, January 19th from 16:00 – 17:30 GMT.
It will present the launch of a flagship report called The State of Carbon Dioxide Removal – a first-of-its kind, independent, scientific assessment, tracking the development of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) globally. It is organized in collaboration with CO2RE, the Greenhouse Gas Removal Hub – the UK’s national research hub on greenhouse gas removal.

Presenting authors at the event will be Oliver Geden, German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), Jan Minx from Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC), Gregory Nemet, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Steve Smith, University of Oxford. A special guest speaker will be Jen Wilcox from the US Department of Energy.

Those lead authors will discuss key findings from the report and give us an idea of the global state of the CDR development, as the analysis tracks progress on the industry’s scale-up, public perceptions, policies and innovation. There will also be an opportunity for audience Q&A.
