Bolivia-based biochar producer Exomad Green has successfully set in motion the expansion of its Concepción production site, marking a bold step towards their goal of removing 800,000 tonnes of CO2 by 2027.

This advancement is part of the company’s strategy to gradually grow their operational power to levels that will enable globally meaningful carbon removal results.

As part of this agenda, Exomad Green is increasing the biochar production capacity at its Concepcion and Riberalta locations in Bolivia and has announced plans to construct three new facilities by 2027, with the first one projected to be online by 2026 in Guarayos.

Exomad Green made history earlier this year as the biochar producer that provided 50% of all the biochar-based carbon removal credits available on the market.

With the new addition to the Concepcion plant, Exomad Green will be able to double its capacity from 60,000 tonnes to 120,000 tonnes per year by 2025, marking yet another important milestone for the company, as this increase has been a central component of their development plans.

Beyond the significant biochar carbon removal efforts, Exomad is focused on facilitating a greener future for everyone by supporting local communities, enriching local ecosystems with environmental benefits, and improving the overall well-being all throughout its operational reach.

Staying true to this vision, the company delivers its biochar product free of charge to regional farmers, who then use it to improve the soil health of their lands and yield better crops from farming activities.

Exomad also offers social development programs that enhance education opportunities and healthcare services for the people in its area of operations. With its production plants based in Bolivia, the company is also bringing many employment opportunities to rural parts of the country.

With their ambitious growth plans now systematically put into practice, the company is well on its way to cementing its position as a global front-runner in the biochar industry.
