Exomad Green and Supercritical have signed a three-year agreement for a notable volume of 500,000 tonnes of durable carbon dioxide removal (CDR).
Under the deal, Exomad, positioned as the global biochar leader by delivered volume, will provide Supercritical and its marketplace platform with up to 500,000 tonnes of durable biochar CDR.
This transaction exhausts Exomad Green’s remaining 2026 inventory, and it includes allocations for 2027 and 2028, all certified under the Puro.earth biochar methodology.
The agreement builds on a standing partnership between Exomad and Supercritical, through which the marketplace has already facilitated the sale of more than 100,000 tonnes of Exomad Green biochar credits.
In a broader perspective, this deal signals a CDR market shift where new buyers are on the lookout for high-quality removals for 2026-2030 climate targets, focusing on credits that can be delivered and retired within the next few years.
To date, Bolivia-based Exomad Green has generated more than 320,000 tonnes of durable carbon removal and has expanded production by over 200% year-on-year, establishing itself as the largest biochar supplier globally by delivered volume.
At the same time, its partner Supercritical has facilitated more than 1.8 million tonnes of carbon removal through its marketplace platform, recognized as one of the leading options on the market.
With this newly announced agreement, Supercritical has now facilitated nearly 2 million tonnes of CDR across different pathways, including biochar, mineralization, direct air capture (DAC), enhanced rock weathering (ERW), and other permanent carbon removal approaches.

The announcement comes at a time when buyers are increasingly looking for near-term CDR supply from operational projects, prioritizing reliable and proven suppliers.
Noting that the CDR market is maturing, Exomad Green CEO Diego Justiniano shared that this agreement puts Exomad’s operational capacity into the market where buyers need it most. “Verified, near-term supply. Not a future promise, but tonnes available today,” he added.
In a statement, Supercritical CEO Michelle You shared that long-term offtakes and short-term spot purchases are equally important for building the market.
She said, “This agreement provides immediate access to high-quality, near-term supply from the leading biochar producer in the world. The market is moving from promise to performance, and performance requires supply you can count on this year.”
