On Friday, October 6th, 2023, from 14:00 – 17:00 (CEST), the European Commission is hosting a workshop and training where it will present the results obtained in the call for evidence and public consultation on the Industrial Carbon Management Strategy that was open to stakeholders and the public from early June to end of August 2023.
Participants willing to take part in the workshop can register here. The registration is open until Thursday 5th of October 2023, 23:59 (CEST). People can attend the workshop in Brussels or on-line.
The goal of the workshop is also to share the views of what the European Commission expected from the open public consultation. It will shed light on the relevance of carbon capture and storage, carbon capture utilization and storage and industrial carbon removals for the EU climate goals.
There is also a set time for Q&As and feedback from participants on the technological options to capture carbon emissions before they reach the atmosphere, transport, store, or use them in a carbon management value chain.
The feedback from the workshop will be used by the Commission as important input for the development of a strategy on how these technologies can best contribute to the objective of reaching climate neutrality for the EU by 2050 and set a strategic vision for industrial carbon management in the EU.
