  • Green Earth’s broader carbon credit sales pipeline exceeded $56 million at the end of September, the Dutch developer said.
  • Firm contracted future sales reached $53 million, up from $47 million at the end of June.
  • The company’s latest growth comes as buyers increasingly use long-term offtake deals to secure future carbon credit supply.

Dutch nature-based carbon developer Green Earth said its carbon credits sales pipeline exceeded $53 million (€50 million) at the end of September, highlighting the rapid expansion of forward sales as buyers seek to secure future supplies of environmental credits.

The company said its firm sales order book reached about $53 million on Sept. 30, compared with $47 million three months earlier. That represents more than a 23-fold increase from the end of 2025. Including the potential value of an option attached to its Uganda project, Green Earth said its broader pipeline had moved above $56 million.

Uganda deal adds to pipeline

A major contributor was an agreement covering Green Earth’s Bulindi Agroforestry and Chimpanzee Conservation Project in Uganda. The deal represents about $4.8 million of firm future sales for deliveries scheduled from 2027 through 2031.

Green Earth CEO Selwyn Duijvestijn commented on the announcement by saying: “Our focus is now firmly on execution. Contracts create visibility, but implementation, verification, issuance, and delivery ultimately create value. With planting preparations advancing in Uganda, promising survival results in Kazakhstan, and the first agricultural products already being harvested and sold in Kenya, we are building the operational foundation required to deliver on the commercial commitments we have secured.”

The agreement also gives the buyer an option for additional volumes through 2035. If fully exercised, the firm commitment and option would have a combined potential value of about $16.3 million. Green Earth does not include the option volumes in its firm order book.

The company also has a long-term agreement covering its Mount Kenya Regenerative Agroforestry Project. That deal covers more than 1.5 million projected credits over 15 years, subject to verification and certification, with the first issuance expected in 2027.

Buyers move upstream

The growth comes as carbon buyers increasingly commit to future supply rather than relying exclusively on the spot market.

Sylvera said disclosed forward offtake volumes fell sharply year over year during the first half of 2026, but volumes excluding Microsoft rose 73% to 12 million tonnes.

MSCI has also pointed to the growing importance of forward contracting, saying buyers are using agreements for future delivery to lock in supply, price and quality.

For Green Earth, the next challenge is converting contracted projects into verified and delivered credits. The company said its priorities for the fourth quarter include project implementation, monitoring, verification and credit issuance across its portfolio.
