This week, DNV presented its UK Energy Transition Outlook in front of energy leaders, who gathered to discuss climate targets and corrective action.
At the core of the UK Energy Transition Outlook (ETO) was the country’s target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, which DNV believes won’t be reached if things continue as they are.
The ETO acknowledged the UK’s efforts so far to bring about the energy transition and meet decarbonization goals.
However, it also pointed out the pressing need for both government and industry to create a clear roadmap and long-term policy clarity to ensure that business and society ‘can act with confidence.’
