Crescent Midstream, an oil pipeline company supported by the Carlyle Group, has announced plans to jointly develop and construct a carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
This nearly $1 billion project will capture carbon dioxide emissions from Entergy’s 994 MW Lake Charles power station.
Partnering with Samsung E&A and Honeywell, the project is anticipated to capture up to 3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
Crescent Midstream, which owns a significant network of pipelines in Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico, expects the CCS project to be completed in 2028.
By investing in this CCS project, Crescent Midstream is demonstrating its commitment to reducing carbon emissions and contributing to a more sustainable energy future.
