Cool Planet And Carmeuse Sign Carbon Capture Agreement

Cool Planet And Carmeuse Sign Carbon Capture Agreement - Carbon Herald

Cool Planet Technologies just announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Carmeuse Technologies SA (“Carmeuse”) to work together using Cool Planet’s innovative carbon capture technology.

Carmeuse is among the world’s leading producers of limestone, lime and mineral-based products.

Thanks to this new partnership, Carmeuse will be able to drastically reduce the carbon footprint of its lime production assets.

This collaboration will put Cool Planet‘s technology to the test with a pilot demonstration plant.

Both companies will also work together to design a full-scale industrial plant that cuts carbon emissions in a new and cost-effective way.

Andrew Corner, the Managing Director of Cool Planet Technologies, commented: “We are very pleased to be collaborating with Carmeuse.”

“Cool Planet’s technology has a huge advantage in industries such as lime and cement and we look forward to working with Carmeuse to progress their decarbonisation plans and deliver a cost-efficient solution,” Corner said.

Cool Planet is a game-changer in carbon capture. The company’s innovative membrane technology slashes the cost of capturing carbon emissions in hard-to-abate industries like cement, lime, steel, waste-to-energy, and coal power plants.

Unlike traditional methods, Cool Planet’s process is chemical-free and highly energy-efficient.

It can even run entirely on renewable electricity, making it a clean and sustainable solution.

In addition, the compact, modular design of the technology allows for easy adaptation to existing facilities or new construction projects.

This groundbreaking technology was developed by Helmholtz Zentrum Hereon, a leading German research institute. Cool Planet holds the exclusive rights to bring it to market, offering a powerful tool for industries to achieve net-zero goals.
