Niparko, previously the VP of Product at Twilio & Co-founder of CDR.fyi, joins Charm to build the digital backbone powering our future MRV systems.
Imagine a fleet of mobile carbon-removal “mini-factories” deployed across the US. These units would capture and convert residual biomass like corn stalks or beetle-killed wood into bio-oil, a carbon-rich fuel that can be sequestered for millennia towards restoring Earth’s climate.
To meet the massive demand for carbon removal in the coming decades, we need to accelerate innovation in several areas simultaneously.
This includes:
- Advanced Pyrolyzer Technology: Optimizing our hardware to convert biomass efficiently.
- Rapid Scaling: Expanding our operations at an unprecedented rate for this industry.
- Verifiable and Modeled Operations: Tracking and documenting every step of the process transparently.
To achieve this ambitious vision, we’re partnering with Isometric for verification and building a powerful software and data layer for advanced MRV.
This system will digitally monitor everything: from sensor temperatures on our pyrolyzers to the fuel mix powering our factories, and even track bio-oil from its origin to the final storage location.

Kevin Niparko is no stranger to tackling complex data challenges and comes to Charm Industrial from Twilio Segment, where he led teams building real-time data and AI infrastructure serving the world’s biggest brands.
In 2022, Niparko co-founded CDR.fyi to promote transparency and accountability within the durable carbon removal market. CDR.fyi is now a trusted industry resource, utilized by press, academics, and carbon removal purchasers to guide their investment strategies.
