Charm Industrial, a company that specializes in the removal of atmospheric CO2, has partnered with software company Manufacturo to accelerate the scaling of its operations.
Under this partnership, Manufacturo will provide Charm with a tailored process control solution that will be integrated with the help of Manufacturo’s elaborate API functionality and enhanced data management.
Charm is focused on combating atmospheric carbon dioxide pollution by turning agricultural and forestry waste into CO2-dense bio-oil through a process of fast pyrolysis. The resulting carbon-packed, energy-poor liquid bio-oil then gets injected and safely stored underground.
This process offers a climate-friendly approach for disposing of forestry and agricultural waste, providing a durable method for storing carbon away from the atmosphere for long periods of time.
Boasting a list of high-profile clients like Microsoft, Stripe, and Shopify, Charm’s carbon removal technology has gained momentum, and the company is now looking to scale operations as they push towards the goal of gigatonnes of CO2 removal levels.
Charm Industrial’s Operations Engineering Manager Dillon Card shared that the fast and responsible scaling of carbon removal is key to combating climate change.
He said, “Manufacturo’s all-in-one software solution will be instrumental in our efforts to achieve this objective and scale our high-quality carbon removals. Our organizations share a common vision of the future of manufacturing, and we look forward to working closely with their team to further advance our environmental initiatives.”
With the software upgrades introduced by Manufacturo, Charm will now be able to boost the operational efficiency, guaranteeing highly precise traceability records for their Carbon Ledger.

As Jackson Lisec, Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at Charm, explained, “The data interoperability between Manufacturo and Charm’s custom carbon accounting software, Ledger, is going to ensure accurate tracking of production outputs to ensure the highest quality carbon credits.”
On behalf of Manufacturo, Kenzo Takai, Chief Operations Officer, commented that the company is very excited to collaborate with Charm, highlighting that their integrated software solution will provide a suite of applications that can accelerate the advancement of Charm’s “bio-oil sequestration” method.
