Following an impressive advancement on the carbon removal market, CarbonX has rebranded to ClimeFi, introducing valuable new members to its team.

In a statement issued this week, ClimeFi announced that the name change reflects the company’s notable growth since its launch in 2022 and highlights the ambition to provide global-level support to carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and related climate financing solutions.

The company chose the name ClimeFi to indicate its evolution as a service provider on the carbon removal market and to differentiate itself from similarly named entities in the industry.

Building on a successful track record of partnerships with leading market players like Adyen, Boston Consulting Group, and Euronext, ClimeFi will bring their invaluable know-how to the next phase of their operations as they continue to provide help with building and managing CDR portfolios.

To ease this next-gen transition, the company has secured strategic funding from investors like ENGIE, Redstone, and PROfounders. This financial boost will enable the company to expand its team and enrich the catalog of client services.

ClimeFi has also fortified its team with three new key additions that bring along vital market insights and experience.

In the role of Chief Investment Officer, ClimeFi welcomed industry expert Philip Moss, former Chairman and Managing Director of NextGen and Global Director for CDR at South Pole.

In this new capacity, Philip Moss will apply his expertise to direct the company’s rollout of collective CDR portfolios and work towards catalyzing further CDR demand through high-level corporate engagement.
