Carbonfuture has launched a new tender offering buyers a rare opportunity to secure permanent BECCS carbon removal within an OECD country, backed by a robust regulatory and legal framework.

Expressions of interest are now open for a Danish project expected to begin deliveries in 2026, providing one of the few near-term, investment-grade BECCS options available in Europe.

The project, developed by an established Danish biogas operator, has been rigorously evaluated under Denmark’s Negative Emissions for Carbon Capture and Storage (NECCS) program – one of Europe’s most advanced national schemes for high-integrity carbon removal.

The initiative is designed to support large-scale deployment of durable removals while providing long-term policy stability for buyers.

Long-Duration, Compliance-Ready Carbon Removal

Carbonfuture says the tender offers several features that set it apart from most global BECCS opportunities.

The removals will be permanently stored in geological formations, tracked end-to-end through Carbonfuture’s digital Trust Infrastructure, and certified under an ICROA-endorsed standard.

For corporate buyers preparing for tightening disclosure obligations and future carbon removal mandates, the offer provides multi-year volume certainty in a low-risk OECD context, an increasingly scarce commodity as demand for engineered removals accelerates.

Qualified buyers can now request access to the project’s data room, review detailed documentation, and submit bids. Carbonfuture expects interest from compliance-leaning corporates, aviation and industrial firms targeting long-duration removals, and intermediaries assembling high-integrity portfolios.

“We’re excited to offer bidders access to this first-of-its-kind BECCS removal project,” said Dominic Lüdin, Chief Growth Officer at Carbonfuture.

“In a market where durable removal supply is increasingly scarce, securing long-term volumes from a government-backed project that’s supported by robust tracking and reporting through Carbonfuture’s digital Trust Infrastructure is rare. With credits lined up to be CRCF-eligible and verified under an ICROA-endorsed standard, this represents a unique chance for net-zero-committed organizations to lock in de-risked, high-integrity BECCS credits at a competitive price.”

As global markets shift from voluntary commitments toward regulated carbon removal demand, the availability of government-backed BECCS in Europe remains extremely limited.

Carbonfuture’s tender marks a notable moment: one of the first opportunities to secure durable, policy-aligned BECCS supply on European soil ahead of 2030. Requests can be submitted here.
