CarbonCapture Inc. Raises $80M In Series A Funding Round

Direct Air Capture (DAC) company CarbonCapture Inc. just secured $80 million in a Series A funding round led by the prominent investor in scientific startups Prime Movers Lab and with participation from a number of other venture investors.

The funding round saw the addition of several new strategic investors, some of which are Aramco Venture, Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund, and Siemens Financial Services.

CarbonCapture Inc. is among the leaders in DAC technology in the United States, and the newly raised funds will be spent on further refining its carbon removal technology, as well as on the early deployment of its modular DAC units.

In a comment on the news, Adrian Corless, CEO of CarbonCapture Inc., states: “To realize our ambitious mission to decarbonize the atmosphere, it’s imperative that we marshal the capabilities of the global industrial community.”

CarbonCapture Inc. specializes in designing and building DAC systems that rely on the company’s unique, proprietary modular open systems architecture and sorbent technology to capture CO2 directly from the atmosphere.

So far, the company has secured over $26 million in sales for carbon removal credits, with some of its customers being major corporations, such as Microsoft, Boston Consulting Group, and others.
